Hey, it's Christine and Carrie and we're
Carrie:best friends and we are the owners of Lavender and Lace Boutique, an online women's boutique based out of Sherwood Park, Alberta. And we started a podcast, uh, just to hear ourselves talk.
Kristine:Welcome to Two Babes Podcast. Welcome. All right. Should we just deep dive in? Let's just do it.
Carrie:Okay. So, uh, we are going to be taking a little podcast hiatus.
Kristine:A little podcast nappy nap. A little snoozer. We
Carrie:have hit the point where we just don't have time to do these during the week. Um, for a lot of reasons. First one being... Let's list them off. Oh gosh. Um, so when we started the podcast, we didn't know that our social media manager would be leaving shortly after. Honestly, while we have the most amazing team right now, we're still down a full person in that team and Christine and I, I don't want to say we're picking up slack because we're not. No. But we have taken on new portions of our job that, to assist our team. Yes. And probably new. Tasks that will stay with us.
Kristine:We're essentially doing a lot of job sharing. Yeah. And we're a little bit stretched
Carrie:thin. We are. And, you know, a lot of the stuff we're doing. You know, like I said, it's probably going to be our job for a while. Totes, yep. Or forever. Yes. One of the two. But we just need to get into a new groove and our business is still our number one priority.
Kristine:100%. So. Which is why we're just. Just being completely transparent and honest with you guys and just explaining ourselves. Um, although I know we don't need to because you guys just really understand us in so many different ways and we are so grateful for you. Um, we just, we wanted to be authentic and honest. So that's kind of where we're at right now.
Carrie:So you know, The, that part was a really big for us, but we also found that instead of, you know, having time to record this podcast, we were just slamming out episodes that we didn't have time to think about. We didn't have time to, you know, um, discuss. It just, uh, you know, it's just been. Yeah,
Kristine:it's something that we don't want to get rid of forever and we want to bring it back. So we're just taking a little pausey pause.
Carrie:And we don't want to like just, you know, like do the episodes just for the sake of doing them. Yeah. Because
Kristine:that's... And we want to do it authentically, and we don't want to do it with stress in mind or on our shoulders because we have a lot going on right now, and we don't want it to be the tipping point because it's something that we thoroughly, genuinely enjoy. Yeah, we
Carrie:do. So it's just one, you know, Christine and I the other day, I looked at her and I'm like, I think the podcast has to go for a bit. You know, it wasn't even a discussion. It was like, yeah, yeah, because it just isn't fitting into our day right now. No. And, um, you know, our business needs our focus because we are going into our busy
Kristine:season and without our business, there would be no podcast. Correct. Correct. We, uh, we just have to put our, we have to put a hundred. We're 110 percent into our business right now, so we can come back to this with, um, a good head on our shoulders because like I said, there's a lot of stress going on in our life right now. If we continue doing this, we wouldn't be doing it, um, properly and I feel like you guys would be able to feel the negatives
Carrie:on it. So, yeah, and we can't, we can't let our business suffer because of this. Like, I love the podcast, I love it, but at the end of the day, it, it, it's not what Thank you. Makes money and pays the bills and exactly
Kristine:staff. Yes. 100%.
Carrie:You know, so that's where that's going and we're going to miss you guys, but still follow us on Instagram. Yes. We'll still post on there. Yes.
Kristine:And we also want to mention that we are going to continue our book club as of right now. Yeah. Um, we do have a book, um, underway right now. It's called the perfect marriage. If you haven't had a chance to read it, yeah. Pick it up because it's, it is a good one. Um, and we're going to continue that. We still have that episode planned for the 24th of September. Um, and then we're just going to take it day by day. And if we are able to get another book out for you guys, great. But, um, if we're not able to do, let's say October or November, whichever, um, It's not because we don't want to, it's just because we have a lot going on. Um, October for myself personally is going to be a schmozzle of a month. So I, like, you know, I can't guarantee anything.
Carrie:No. So we're just, we're doing the best we can. And it's, you know, this really goes back to the third episode, which still to this day is our most popular episode ever about balance. You guys. Like, this is just real life. This is just authentically what happens and Christine and I aren't beating ourselves up about it. We're not, you know, we're not it is what it is And you know, you have to recognize what is important and at this current juncture in our life Yeah, this is the one thing that had to go this
Kristine:Current this time in our season of life, it
Carrie:just, this season does not allow for the podcast recording.
Kristine:And it's, yeah, it's a bummer. It's a real bummer, but we're going to have so many great things at LLB that I feel like you guys are going to be happy with a little bit of a trade off right now. I agree. And Karina is so much more present in our social media that I feel like that kind of helps. Do you guys still have that personal feel with us? If it's not here, it's there.
Carrie:Yeah, I agree. It'll be good. I 100 percent agree. It'll be good. Yeah, I think so too. It's going to be great. It is going to be
Kristine:great. Let, and we'll still document our, uh, walk experiences on two days.
Carrie:Oh yeah, we're going on one tonight, so. Yeah,
Kristine:I'm so excited. We've been literally talking about it all day long, about our walks. We're like, fuck, what time is it? Like, I want to go.
Carrie:100%, it's all I'm thinking about. Like. If I didn't have work to do, I'd already be there, right, you know,
Kristine:yeah, that would be fun. So yeah, that's where we're at right now. But follow us along on our two babes. Podcast, Instagram, follow along on our personal Instagrams,
Carrie:um, and Lavender and Lace. Because, you know, if you follow Lavender and Lace Boutique on Instagram, you might notice how our social media has been like killing it lately. Fire. Fire. Yeah. Um.
Kristine:Our social media team has like blossomed.
Carrie:Yes. It's over the last month and a half. Like their
Kristine:creativity is out of control. They are just geniuses. Mm
Carrie:hmm. They're, yeah. They are so happy. Yeah. So follow us there because it's pretty cool and, you know, Christine and I made a pretty funny reel today. So funny.
Kristine:It's gonna be posted soon. Very soon within the next day or two. Yeah for sure It's a little sneak peek if you like those. So
Carrie:yeah, so we're we're sad to say goodbye, but it's not goodbye It's see you soon. Yeah. See you later. See you later And I know you guys are going to be sad, but please don't make us more sad. And please don't make us feel bad because we already, we know.
Kristine:Yeah, we didn't take the decision lightly. No. So,
Carrie:please don't. No.
Kristine:Don't say mean things or we will block you.
Carrie:Yes. Yeah. Seriously. For real. Um, because this was a, like, it's something we definitely both knew was coming for a while. And then when I said it out loud, yes, the other day, I think it was just like, yeah, okay. Yeah, we
Kristine:toyed with the idea of like, maybe adjusting like, so we would do it every month or do it every two weeks and blah, blah, blah. But we're like, okay, so like when it comes down to that in two weeks, are we actually going to have a plan? Are we going to be continued to be
Carrie:stressed out? Yeah, no, there's no, there's no, there's just no, no room at the end here. No,
Kristine:and it's something that we, um, Can look forward to down the road again.
Carrie:Yeah, and you guys, you know what, in the new year, which is, I'm assuming, when we're gonna start back up, you can be excited for season two. And we'll probably drop three episodes the first week, or whatever, like, you know? Season two.
Kristine:Oh, that's so nice. We're like the Kardashians. We are. Yeah. I
Carrie:mean, but better.
Kristine:Yeah, obviously. Pfft. Naturally. Yeah. We're actually more natural.
Carrie:Yeah. Yeah, I even took my extensions out. Yeah, you sure did. Like, I've hit that level of my life where I just don't even have time to maintain my extensions anymore. Yeah. Right?
Kristine:So, they had to go too. We don't even do our Monday night blow, or Monday blowouts anymore. No. Like, we just don't have freaking time. So,
Carrie:like, that had to go. My extensions are gone. Like, you know? Yeah. We're just, we're, you know? Yeah, we're just doing day by day. We're in the season of our life right now.
Kristine:And it's quite the season. It is.
Carrie:But it's been, you know, I feel very accomplished at the end of the day most days. Yeah. You
Kristine:know? Me too. Totally. Yeah. Yeah. Um, I just wanted to say, we did say on our live the other day that we were gonna promise that we were gonna do a quick, just what we thought about the concerts that we had. Oh, okay. We did promise that. So it's gonna be very, very, very, very, very brief. Okay, so we, Carrie and I went to the Chicks the other night, and we, um, briefly talked about it on the Monday Night Live, and we said we'd, you know, spill the beans. We didn't like it. I hated it.
Carrie:Yes. I actually hated the concert. Yeah, so
Kristine:this, the singing, they did, was great. It was, they did a great job. However, the concert itself was so bamboozley. I
Carrie:hated it. Yeah. There was pauses. Awkward breaks. Awkward. So awkward. Like the lights just went off on the stage and then, I don't know what they were doing, like reorganizing the stage, which is fine, but like, so often, in between every song there was a weird pause. They sang their new album from 2020, which I knew one song off of. I knew more because we listened to it the week before. More than half of their songs were new. And like, that's not what I'm here for. I'm here to relive my my glory days. Okay? And that's what I wanted. I wanted to dance. And relive it and I couldn't and no joke, you guys, if I hadn't popped gummies at the before the show, I probably would have left.
Kristine:The reason why I had a time of my life is because that we had the gummies and I was with my best friend. But let me tell you, otherwise, I felt like I was just sitting through their political agenda. Yeah, it was just
Carrie:a lot for me. It was
Kristine:too much. I'm not going to get into it, but it was just too much. And if you were there and you enjoyed it. Awesome. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Yeah. If you were there and you hated it, welcome to the club. Yeah. And if you wanted to go and you now are listening and you're like, well, glad I didn't waste my money. Good for you. Yeah.
Carrie:Yeah. I just, I did like Christine said, and I'm, we're not going to go into it. Whatever your beliefs are, doesn't matter to me, but like, that's just not the time and place. Agreed. Because. You know, yeah, it just felt weird. It did felt very pushy. It was very pushy, which isn't my vibe.
Kristine:I agree So yeah, didn't like it. No, and a lot of people are asking about the Jonas Brothers I'm not getting into it here, but I will do a full recap on my stories on Instagram But let me tell you it was fucking amazing Yeah, and I'll leave
Carrie:you with that also Um, make sure you follow two babes because at the end of the month, we are going to go live on the Instagram page and on our road trip because we're going on a roadie. Roadie! So, just, just throwing that out there. Like, we're not disappearing completely. Um, and then we went to 50 Cent on Monday. Oh, did
Kristine:we did? That was an
Carrie:experience. That was an experience. Yeah. Wow. Wow. Especially because we had just been to the Chicks like three nights before. Yeah. So the contrast. Yes. Of everything. Everything. From the crowd to the, the, the sights to see on the stage. Yeah.
Kristine:The show itself was, um. Really interesting. It was very crude and I'm not offended by that at all. No, I loved every moment of it. I just wasn't really expecting how crude it was going to be. So it was like, it was funny. And I was like sober. I was the driver of the evening. Yeah. So I had it like, the experience was like really something I'll hold on to.
Carrie:You're telling me. Yeah. Girlfriend. Carrie was,
Kristine:Carrie had gummies. Wow. The laser beams in that, in that concert.
Carrie:How did that feel? The laser? Like when they were in the boxes of the lasers? I was fucking floored.
Kristine:I was floored and I was sober. Like I couldn't imagine being in your
Carrie:shoes. I was just, I was Like, but I was in that concert with them. Oh yeah. I was in the lyrics. They were me. I was them. We were one.
Kristine:I was, I was watching you a few times because like, I knew how intense the lasers and stuff were for me. So I was like looking at you and I'm like, how are you even living right now? Because like, that was so
Carrie:intense. One time. So. My husband didn't want to go. He like just wasn't interested and he wasn't from the beginning and then a couple weeks ago He's like Carrie. I just don't want to go to this concert. Please don't make me yeah, and so I ended up taking my husband's best friend and At one point I turned to him and I was like, I don't know how to be here anymore He's like, are you okay? I'm like, oh, I'm fine. Wow Like my senses were just overwhelmed. Yes overloaded
Kristine:All my
Carrie:Spidey Yeah. Like 20 out of 10. If Dixie Chicks was 5, this was 20. Yeah. I just, we saw some kids there and like if you took your kids, that's okay. Like that's, that's great. But like there were strippers up on stage. Like
Kristine:strippin
Carrie:Yeah, like they were, they were half naked. And there were some... Booty shaking. Oh, yeah, like it just it wasn't appropriate for me.
Kristine:No, no, there was this little one She was like maybe six or seven. She was wearing a frickin unicorn t shirt t shirt and She's watching the strippers. It was just a wild wild. It was a wild
Carrie:world Yeah, I mean
Kristine:like you do you you You are, you do you with your family, whatever, but let me
Carrie:tell you, I was thinking about that child the whole time. The whole time. I'm like her, her eyes, her
Kristine:eyes, do you know what? And for me, like, I don't want to deal with the questions after, right? Like I don't want to, mommy, why was she shaking her booty? Why was her? Pretty much her booty hole showing like yeah, it's a no
Carrie:for me though. Mom, why did that one rap guy bury his face in her vagina? And that actually happened. It did happen on top of a piano. Like why did he do that mom? What was that about? Yeah. Not wanting to get into that ever.
Kristine:No, it's a no for me. I wonder how long they like actually stayed for.
Carrie:I don't know. Like I also wondered that. I had so many queries. Like did she leave?
Kristine:Did she be like, oh no, this is not for you. Yeah. Sally!
Carrie:Yeah, it was a wild time, but such a good show.
Kristine:So good. Yeah. But yeah. Would do again. Oh, yeah. 10 out of 10 for me. Like, that was great. But yeah, it was quite the experience. So,
Carrie:um, we're gonna say goodbye now.
Kristine:Okay, we love you. Bye, guys. Okay. See you
Carrie:soon. Okay, bye.
Kristine:We love you. Bye.
